While we love seeing the progress of the repairs on the building\u2019s exterior\u2014with the restored terra cotta and repaired roof\u2014it\u2019s the interior systems that have us most excited right now.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_42293\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42293\" class=\" wp-image-42293\" src=\"https:\/\/townhallseattle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Town-Hall_Seismic-Diagram_DD.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"446\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-42293\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Structure and Seismic Improvements<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roofing work started in September, which enabled the construction teams to begin performing moisture-sensitive work. They\u2019ve been installing the new elevator and hanging drywall in mechanical shafts and parts of the Forum (previously &#8220;The Downstairs&#8221;). But as the weather starts changing, it\u2019s time to get the roof and walls closed up, get heat into the building, and start putting in finish materials, such as drywall and plaster.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-42294\" src=\"https:\/\/townhallseattle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Photo-Sep-25-1-32-49-PM-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"451\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Closing walls means finalizing all of the systems inside them. Ventilation, hot water radiators, refrigerant-based heating and cooling, AV wiring and power, sprinklers, fire alarms, and performance lighting are just a few of the systems they\u2019ve been installing and upgrading while the walls and ceilings are still open.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-41255\" src=\"https:\/\/townhallseattle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Photo-Dec-05-12-25-42-PM-e1541025947843.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The interior of the building may look like a jungle of conduit and scaffolding right now, but closing up the walls marks a major step toward making Town Hall feel like home again.
