One of the largest sections of the original Town Crier was \u201cWhat People Are Doing,\u201d highlighting things like, \u201cYesterday afternoon an interesting demonstration of Dalcrose Eurhythmics was given by Elsie Hewett McCoy\u201d and, \u201cDr. Mizra Ahmed Sohrab spoke about the emancipation of Persian women that is currently going on.\u201d In this series we\u2019re revisiting the old column and tying it to our community\u2019s current happenings, asking: \u201cwhat <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">people doing?\u201d<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Today\u2019s entry\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the March 6 edition of the <em>Town Crier<\/em> there was a brief mention of Seattle\u2019s local Composers Society. There was a program that \u201cmarked another milestone in the history of this club of talented musicians whose members are doing their part in making the history of music in the Northwest.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not to toot our own Town Hall horn too much but we have also done our part in making local music history. Last year, for instance, we were part of a Phillip Glass commission entitled \u201cPerpetulum,\u201d the first piece Glass composed for percussion. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/townhallseattle.org\/event\/third-cost-percussion-2019\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Third Coast Percussion<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> gave its Northwest premiere as part of Town Hall\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/townhallseattle.org\/event-listings\/arts-culture\/town-music\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Town Music Series<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=60vlvU5PjgQ&amp;t=54s\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perpetulum<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Chamber Music\/Small Ensemble Performance category.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next up for us on the commission front?
