We are ideally seeking a Coast Salish (particularly Duwamish) or otherwise Indigenous, Native American, Alaskan Indian, or First Nations artist for this Residency.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>OVERVIEW<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The artist selected for this Residency will create a new, two-dimensional work to serve as a visual installation of Town Hall\u2019s land acknowledgment written by the elders and youth of UNEA Clear Sky Native Youth Council. The Resident will meet with UNEA Clear Sky youth and elders to discuss the land acknowledgment and its creation process, as well as participate in an end-of-tenure on stage program to discuss their work with Town Hall Seattle and UNEA Clear Sky Native Youth Council.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During their Residency the artist selected will be invited to use Town Hall\u2019s space, events, speakers, and staff as a resource for inspiration and reflection. They will be encouraged to contemplate how their work will exist alongside our on stage programming and what impact their visual work could have on audience members and Town Hall supporters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>COMPENSATION<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Artist in Residence will receive $3,000 paid in three installments. The Artist in Residence will have a budget of up to $1,000 for materials and supplies. Additionally the Artist in Residence will have access to Town Hall\u2019s facilities and events.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>PHOTO AND VIDEO RELEASES\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participants of this Residency agree to allow Town Hall Seattle to publicize their work with Town Hall Seattle as well as taking photos and video for archival and promotional purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>QUALIFICATIONS &amp; SELECTION PROCESS<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A resident will be selected based on the quality of their proposal and example works as well as the strength of their connection to Native people in the Seattle area.
