I\u2019m so inspired by people like <a href=\"https:\/\/townhallseattle.org\/event\/no-no-boy\/\">Julian Saporiti\/No-No Boy<\/a>, who share so much through stories and history. (What a great podcast talk he had with <a href=\"https:\/\/townhallseattle.org\/event\/tomo-nakayama-interviews-julian-saporiti-of-no-no-boy\/\">Tomo Nakayama<\/a>!) I\u2019m inspired by all of the people taking on the huge issues of our times. I was particularly struck by <a href=\"https:\/\/townhallseattle.org\/event\/howard-frumkin\/\">Howard Frumkin\u2019s talk<\/a> on Planetary Health <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(with all of the intersections\u2026).\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gretchen goes on to describe a back-and-forth that most artists will find familiar: the dichotomy of feeling insignificant, yet knowing the worth of creative gifts; the desire to speak up, and the fear of causing harm; the discomfort and pain of the process, and the creative energy that can come from intersecting ideas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s such acts of questioning, connection, and expression that make Town Hall residencies a joy to watch unfold.
